While each course differs slightly, the pre-test assesses student skills based on lesson topics.

• If a student does not score 70% or greater on a lesson topic, the system will deliver instructional content, practice activities, and assessments needed in the areas the student did not master.
• At the end of the unit, the student takes a unit test to demonstrate mastery of all lesson topics before moving to the next unit.
• If the student does not demonstrate mastery on the unit test, the teacher will reset the unit test and any lessons the student needs to redo to learn content and skills necessary to proceed in the course.
• If the student demonstrates mastery on all lesson topics, the student will not need to complete any of the lessons in the unit and the pretest serves as the unit test.

Credit recovery is available for English language arts, math, science, and social students. Please refer to Catholic Virtual’s Course Catalog for an up-to-date list of credit recovery courses. For courses in need of recovery that are not listed, such as Religion or World Languages, credit remediation options are available. Please speak to your account manager for more information.
